Retro Fresh Card in a Box

Finally finally I have made one of these card in a box thingies! Whoops, is the trend over yet? We had heaps of fun making these at my monthly class last night. Thanks to all who came. Loving the soft colours of the Retro Fresh designer papers.

Or email me to book in a Stampin' Up! party at yours with a few of your mates :)

These cards fold flat and fit in a standard C6 envelope for posting. The long panel at the back is where you write for those of you who were wondering. I used this video by Tanya Bell for the instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_IUKzv07AE

Autumn Leaves Layout 2

Last week I showed you a very autumnal page and promised another with photos from the same shoot. So, here it is! A lot of the small details are the same - the lettering, washi tape and dog-earred corners but change the colours and HEY you have an entirely different layout. Love the freshness here using up some of this year's Sweet Sorbet Sale-A-Bration papers.
Teehee, how these two kiddies have grown since then!

My 2 1/2" circle punch has to be one of my most used. Never expected that size would be so handy for, well, most anything! Make oversized scallops with it on your next layout... Such Fun!

Just Add Ink 215

It's time for a colour challenge at Just Add Ink this week! Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green with a bit of Baked Brown Sugar - Christmassy right? Well, it took a lot to NOT think of Christmas with this challenge until I came across these Autumn photos by my good friend at Mishele Pou Photography (check out her Facebook page here). Perfect. Check back next Friday to see a very different fun and fresh layout with photos from this same photo shoot.

I think I'm addicted to making the corners of my photos dog-eared.
Oh and - wow - finally a layout with a photo of ME. Albeit a bit old now.

This colour challenge runs for two weeks as some of the Just Add Ink design team are off to Melbourne for our annual Stampin' Up! Inspire Create Share event. Have a great time ladies! So you've got plenty of time to get creating and enter the competition at Just Add Ink. Ok!
xx

Mother's Day 2014

What's in a name? Quite a lot when you're a mum! Hope you've all had a great day celebrating your mum and/or being lavished on by your children. Here's a bit of a shout out to the special lady in my life - love you Mum.

Susan Wong. Mother's Day Card.

Was stoked to find a way of using the 'Hello my name is' stamp from Stampin' Up! Starburst Sayings set. And the little flowers are from Peaceful Petals. Both featured in the Occasions Catalogue and available only until the end of June!

Just Add Ink 213

Needing a bit of inspiration? Check out the pretty picture from at Just Add Ink this week, take what you like from it and create!

Here's the card I made. Something *very* simple and quite easily done with whatever scraps you have lying around. I cut my 1 1/4" punch squares into quarters and jumbled up the colours to make the heart. This would translate well to a different size (for scrap booking or gift wrapping??) simply by using bigger or smaller triangles.

Susan Wong. Geometric heart thank you card.

Post-post ramblings...

Let's be real - even seasoned crafters get 'crafter's block'. Any good card I've made lately seems to be the second or third attempt. So frustrating! Here's an attempt at the challenge I did earlier and wasn't 100% happy with mostly because I was going for 'geometric' and ended up with 'mosaic'. What seems to get me back in the flow is a scrapping layout where I can easily draw on the photos for colours and 'feel'. How do you get your juices going?

Susan Wong. Mosaic Heart Card.

The heart was time consuming -  all hand drawn and cut.
